Interaction in The Human Right Council ( HRC)

The team at the Observatory, led by our president, is dedicated to actively engaging with United Nations mechanisms for human rights protection. We foster partnerships with other non-governmental organizations possessing consultative status to provide technical assistance in gaining access to the Human Rights Council in Geneva. This is achieved through our unwavering commitment to enhancing our advocacy presentations in a professional and distinctive manner. We interact with the Special Procedures of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva by providing written and oral submissions. Additionally, we submit parallel reports to the Universal Periodic Review mechanism and actively participate in its periodic and regular sessions. We also engage with treaty bodies by submitting shadow reports and sharing information with their expert committees.

Following nearly a year of training, characterized by determination and hard work, members of the Observatory are now qualified to participate in advocacy efforts before the Human Rights Council in Geneva. They have gained firsthand experience, having participated remotely in the last regular session of the Human Rights Council. During this session, they personally sought accreditation, prepared oral statements, and delivered them before the General Assembly hall. These meetings provide a genuine platform for showcasing the true situation in our region and the values we stand for, while also offering fellow human rights defenders a global perspective on our issues through our advocacy effort
